Viva Mexico!

HOLA! As most of you know, we just(about 3 weeks ago) got home from an excellent vacation to Cancun. It was the best! The weather was perfect and the food was delicious. We went parasailing which was probably the most frightening moment of my life...I thought that we were going to die. It was quite the rush. So here are some pictures of our great vacation.

The guys rented scooters one day, we chicas were too chicken, the drivers there are nuts. Adam took a killer spill on his while riding in pouring rain and got quite the raspberry. Ava still thinks that he got his "owee" by stepping in a strawberry...who knows?

We spent a day at Isla Mujeres. It was a really neat island. This is a picture of the best restaurant that I have ever eaten at. It looks a little dumpy, but I have never had a better chicken enchilada...paradise

This is right outside our hotel on the beach. The scenery was beautiful! Behind us you can see the lights of a "booze cruise". We could here the music from those parties all night!
Cancun was the best. We had an awesome time with family but were excited to get home and see little Ava.

Finally...!

We have disappeared from the cyber world only because not much new is going on with the Chambers family. Ava and I went to SLC this weekend to visit family. Poor Dougie couldn't come because he was working in Boise. I did quite a bit of shopping and the picture of Ava is her on the South Towne Mall Carousel. I bribed her that if she stayed in her stroller, she could ride the horsey...it was the topic of the day.

We actually went down to surprise my mom. It was her last day of work, so we decided to throw her a surprise retirement party. It didnt quite go as planned. I am still not sure who to blame, but the fault mostly lies with my dad. The party was supposed to start at 7pm. So at about 6:45, Nate and I are on the kitchen floor, putting the final touches on our congrats banner. I look up and my parents are standing right in front of us at the back door. So, not only did they show up 15 minutes early, but they come in through the back door. Worst surprise ever! It was pretty great to see how everyone responded. None the less, it was a great time had by all. So, congrats to the BECKSTER!

We also celebrated Nat's 35th birthday. Happy birthday bro!


As I said above, I believe in bribing. I did some more shopping later and Ava decided that her prize was going to be chap stick. So on the way back to my moms, I was just chatting with my mom and Ava kept telling us that "sparkles are our friends" This sounds like the normal nonsense from her, so we didn't pay much attention to it. We got home and found her like this...

It is tough to tell from the picture, but Ava rolled up the entire stick of chap stick and spread it all over her face. BEAUTIFUL
So...Cheers to sparkles, they are indeed our friends

Thursday Nights are Back!

After a LONG break, the Office will start again on April 10th, set your DVR's! Woo hoo! We went and saw Leatherheads over the weekend, Doug was a little disappointed, but I loved it! Mostly because I have developed a "thing" for Jim Halpert (John Krasinski). Yay for the office, nipple chaffing and all!

2. Who eats more? It used to be Doug...but since he he has lost 30 pounds, I am pretty sure that I eat more than him. It is a sad realization day for me :(

7. Who does the laundry? I do! I usually don't do it until we are completely out of everything. I think it gives us a chance to wear more clothes and expand our wardrobe:)

9. Who pays the bills? We have them split up...but I think that I pay most of them
10. Who cooks more? Doug, he is so much better at it than I am.
11. What meals do you cook together? Doug does all the meat. I will usually do the side dishes.... I use the term "usually" very loosely here
12. Who is more stubborn? I think that I am. Doug would probably agree
13. Who is the first to admit it when they are wrong? Neither one of us are great at it, but I think we are about equal
14. Who is more clean? Doug.... he has a little bit of OCD.
15. Who has more siblings? I do. I am the youngest of 4 and Doug is the oldest of 2.
16. Who wears the pants in the relationship? Depends on who you ask :)
17. What do you like to do together? We enjoy doing a lot together! We cant wait for the weather to warm up so we can leave the house without freezing. We play on a softball team in the summers(which is a good time until Dougie gets suspended). We love to go to movies, out to eat, spur of the moment weekend get-a-ways...we just like to have fun
18. Who eats more sweets? Me... hands down
19. Guilty pleasures? Reality TV. I have actually gotten D Fresh to start watching some with me...which is great. What is better than making fun of those people? Nothing.
20. How did you meet? At USU. Doug was trying to do a little missionary work when he found out that I would hit up the gas station for a diet coke and treats during relief society every Sunday.
21. Who asked who out first? Doug. We went to the Village Inn for our first date....super romantic! I do miss that turkey BLT.

22. Who kissed who first? Doug kissed me first and it happened before our first date. Any surprises there? Didn't think so
23. Who proposed? Doug. It was really cute... he wrote some pretty cute lyrics to the "Want to grow old with you" from the wedding singer (which he NEVER wrote down) Very cute though
24. Best features? Nice teeth and a rockin bod!

25. What is his best quality? He is so fun to be around. He is an awesome father. He is outgoing and always the life of the party...He is never embarrassed to be himself...(seriously, from karaoke to being arrested at sporting events) everyone loves Doug...especially me!

Weekend Delight

I have to brag about my drill team real quick. Last week we were in Boise for our state competition and the Century Dance team took 1st in Military, 4th in Kick and 4th in Dance. They were ranked 3rd over all. (out of all the 4a teams in the state that attended). It is the second year in a row that they have taken 1st in the Military division. They did a really great job and we had a blast! Big Ups CHS dance!

#1 What was I doing 10 years ago?
10 years ago I was a sophomoreat Bingham high school...failing biology. My first and last F.

#2 Things on my To-Do List today:
Today I didn't have drill team(woo hoo!) so I got to sleep a little longer. I woke up and got Ava ready for "school" (we like to call it that instead of daycare...it helps with the guilt) and went to work. Came home and Doug cooked a delicious dinner and we went for a little family walk and now I have promised Ava I will play games....very fun!

#3 What would I do if I were suddenly a Billionaire:
Pay all my debts and family debts.....buy an island and just take it easy everyday! Lots of traveling

#4 Bad Habits:
Mine are very similar to Whitney's!! I pick my face all the time....I speed every time I am in the car. I drop everything right inside the door as soon as I walk in, this results in piles of purses, coats, and groceries on our couch...that is Doug's personal favorite

3. I can not stand the feel of cotton balls...makes me want to gag.
4. I have not had a diet coke in 2 weeks... OK I had one yesterday... only 44 ounces. That is a big improvement.
5. I love Justin Timberlake...say what you will. I am looking at the calendar of him that "Santa" brought me right now.
