Maela is ONE!

I am a month late! Our little Maela turned one on Dec 16. She is so much fun. We could just watch her all day long.

She had a good time opening all her presents and especially loved all the wrapping paper.

Although you cant really tell by the picture above, Maela loved her cake. She thought it was really weird when we all sang to her and looked at us like we were nuts. She had more fun hitting the cake then eating it at first. She got it all over the walls and floor. Then she would shove handfuls in her mouth. Too cute.
Here are some of our favorite things about our Mae bug.

1. She is SUCH a good sleeper. She has been sleeping through the night since she was 3 months old.

2. She is one of the happiest babies I have ever met (I know I am biased)

3. She is funny. She does some of the weirdest things. She is really into throwing her head forward, like headbanging. She has smacked her gums twice on the edge of the table doing this resulting in a bloody mouth. Bloody mouths aside, she continues to rock out!

4. She loves to play with her sister Ava. No matter what mood she is in, Ava can always make her laugh.

5. She has 6 teeth now and they all came in at different times which has caused her to have her teeth really uneven and hillbilly -ish. We love to see her big toothy smile.

6. She is a screamer. When you try to take something from her that she really wants, she will scream in one of the highest and loudest pitches that I have ever heard. Although we really try to discourage this, we cant help but laugh.

7. She loves to eat. She will try almost anything we give to her. She smacks her sweet little lips so loud. I don't think I have ever seen anyone enjoy eating so much.

8. She started to walk! She wasn't quite brave enough right when she turned one, but in the past few weeks she has gained the courage. She walks a very stiff walk , a little like Frankenstein.

9. She has soccer legs. She has been standing up on her own for a couple months now for long periods of time. She likes to squat and stand again and again and again.

10. She is a little bit of a daddy's girl. She loves her daddy!

We love Maela Kathleen and are so glad that she is part of our family. It is so weird to think that a year has already gone by! We cant imagine our life without her.

Happy Birthday Maela! WE LOVE YOU!

Winter is here

It is unbelievable that 2009 is almost over. This year literally flew by! Maela is growing way to fast. She isn't quite walking yet, but I am sure that will happen too soon as well. We had a fabulous fall.

Ava was Super Girl for Halloween and Maela was a Rock Star. They were a lot of fun to take
around this year. It was the first year that Ava wasn't in tears because she was afraid of everyone in costumes.
Maela is probably the happiest baby ever. She is so fun to watch. She is quite the daddy's girl. I cannot believe that she will be one this month.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS BLOGGERS!

WE'RE BACK!!!

The past few months have gone by too quickly! We are finally settling back into the groove of things
Ava celebrated her 4th birthday in June. She was spoiled rotten as usual, but we have had some good times laughing at her funny stories and comments. The only problem that we have found with her is that she NEVER stops talking. Doug and I are often scolded by her for not giving her our full attention. She started preschool last week and is loving it. I still cant believe that my little girl is learning "curriculum"....what a drag

Maela is almost nine months..... how did that happen? She has been crawling for well over a month now and is starting to pull herself up on furniture and things...total bummer. We hate seeing get bigger, but she sure is stinkin cute. She is developing a cute little personality. Maela is a great baby and we are enjoying every second of her.

Other than that, not much is new. We are just livin the dream
Stay classy bloggers :)

Easter Happenings

We went to Salt Lake this Easter and spent some time with family. Ava enjoyed the Easter egg hunt and it was fun to see her understand the whole concept.

The Easter bunny had to hide quite a few eggs so all the kids could find them....talk about madness. It was a blast.

Maela is growing so fast! She has recently found her toes! She rolled over from her belly to her back. We are still trying to get her to really giggle. She is making us work for that!

Ava's favorite part about Easter was the new basket and the candy.
Cheers to the Easter bunny!!

Look who's smiling!!!

Time goes way too fast! Maela is two months old now, at her check up she came in on the 75th percentile all the way across! I cant believe how big she is getting. She is now starting to smile and coo... which is the best! We love our little Mae bug.

Little Dexter was born on Jan 15, I think that he and Maela are going to be the best of friends:)

Maela was blessed on February 1st, 2009. Doug gave her a wonderful blessing and we feel so lucky to have her here with us.

Growing and growing

We just got pictures back! These were taken when Maela was just about three weeks. It is amazing how fast she is growing and changing. We are loving every second of it.

As always, a big shout out to Bobbi for the amazing pictures!
Ava is a great big sister and is always concerned for "Baby Mae Mae". Although the two kid gig is really rocking our world, we are so blessed an couldn't be happier!

Baby Maela

Maela Kathleen Chambers was born on Dec 16 at 1:47 pm. She was 8 lbs 2 oz and 20 1/2 inches long. She is the sweetest little thing ever. She was in a hurry to get here. I was admitted to the hospital at 10:30 am. Labor went well...after the epidural... and everyone is healthy and doing great. We couldn't be happier with our new little addition to the family. She is the best!!! Here are some more pics of her first few days.
